Mallory and her mom drove some distance to my studio in Butler for her senior portrait session, only to have an unexpected thunderstorm put a damper on things. After spending an hour or so shooting in the studio, we were fortunate to see the sunshine once again and moved the shoot outdoors. I always encourage my seniors to do a combination of urban and natural settings for their portraits. I love shooting in fields, but Pennsylvania tends to be really, really green in the spring and the summer. Urban settings offer such a great variety in color and texture, which really balances all of of that green.
This is the outfit she showed up in. She was NOT planning on using it for her shoot, but I thought the shorts were super cute !
Ever since my shoot with Julia, I’ve been getting requests for this shot.
My favorite shot of the evening.
